CSHQA provided all planning, design and development services to renovate a 19,745 sf 1950’s brick and CMU warehouse property into a modern, state-of-the-art space for its Boise office. Services included architectural design, civil, structural, electrical and mechanical/plumbing engineering, telecommunications design, interior space planning and design, and landscape architecture. The project is LEED® Registered with the goal of achieving LEED® Platinum.
Sustainable design highlights include:
Re-use of existing shell and core with significant envelope upgrades in roof, window and exterior wall insulation systems; Radiant slab heating and cooling system connected to Boise geo-thermal loop; Advanced daylight harvesting including natural light, skylights, and automated dimming controls; Extensive use of LED lighting and occupancy sensors throughout; Healthy indoor air quality, plus ventilation system to extract heat exhaust from individual CPUs; Low water fixtures exceeding high efficiency standards; Storm water management system using permeable pavers; Low water use landscaping with white sidewalk pavers to reduce heat island effect; Secure, covered bicycle storage and on-site locker and shower rooms
Landscape Architecture:
Landscaping, sidewalk, curb, parking and streetscape improvements were all done in the City right of way and closely coordinated with the City, Ada County Highway District, and the Capitol City Development Corporation. A new ADA compliant ramp accesses the above street floor level of the building. Low-water plants and trees are planted on three sides with an automated dripper system. White pavers on the Broad St. sidewalk reflect heat. Permeable pavers in the parking strip absorb and disperse storm water from the roof and site. Vintage style street lamps compliment the locale.
