Crate&Barrel opened its first Canadian store in the Yorkdale Mall in
Toronto, Ontario, in September 2008. Quadrangle undertook the design for the Yorkdale Mall space, which features three levels, with a stock area and access to underground loading docks in the basement, and sales areas on the ground and upper floors. Quadrangle designed a sleek and contemporary storefront for Crate&Barrel that seamlessly incorporated their brand and history into a vibrant shopping mall.The design for the Calgary location in the Southcentre was similar in size to the one at
Yorkdale and involved a two storey addition to an existing shopping mall. The upper level is used as a stockroom while the ground floor operates as the display and sales area.
