Studio Mars was asked, together with Andrew van Egmond, to design a courtyard for the new Roosendaal city office. The Huis van Roosendaal will be an open, inviting and energy-neutral building for the employees and residents of the city. The inner garden will become a green oasis, visible from all floors, with quality and ambiance inviting couples to take their wedding photo.
The design for the Rose Garden in Roosendaal, The Netherlands, is received enthusiastically. Studio Mars & Andrew van Egmond worked towards a poetic and layered design. A Rose garden 2.0 where nature as a living system of movement and vibrancy is embraced. A garden for multipurpose use and materials from the old building are transformed and reused strongly and surprisingly.
Part of the up-cycling theme is the development of a lighting object.
This beautiful circular lighting object is the result of a cool process together with @lichtvormgevers
The result is an up-cycled object manufactured from restored building materials. The LED module inside will be connected to an interactive system where brightness, subtle color and warmth can be adjusted to set the stage and atmosphere in the courtyard and roof gardens of ‘Huis van Roosendaal’, city hall of Roosendaal in The Netherlands.
