For the first time in France - a residential building without technical heating, cooling and ventilation
INNOVATION IN LYON
Our office in Paris recently scored a special success. After winning a competition for a quarter in Lyon, at least one of the four residential buildings will be built by Baumschlager Eberle Architekten according to the 2226 concept, i.e. without technical heating, cooling and ventilation. Consideration is also being given to building our 50-metre high residential tower according to the 2226 concept
The houses with a total gross floor area of 11,000 square metres are part of a residential development including accompanying infrastructure directly on the Rhone in the Confluence district. Together with the offices PPX and Atelier de ville en ville, we will plan the complex on two building sites for the real estate group Nexity. In terms of urban planning, the ensemble is remarkable for the clear definition of the bank side facing the Rhone and intimate courtyards in the complex itself. Our residential tower and the high-rise of PPx set a landmark - visible from afar in the surroundings. With the implementation of the 2226 concept, Baumschlager Eberle Architekten are setting an example for the necessary conservation of resources in the building sector.
