An urban retreat for rediscovering Puerto Rico.
Located in one of San Juan, Puerto Rico’s most vibrant neighborhoods, this pied-à-terre was conceived as a second home for a couple looking to experience the city’s culture, gastronomy, and energy from a new perspective.
Light defines the journey.
The living room, dining area, and kitchen are arranged around large windows, creating a sequence of connected spaces in which each area retains its own identity through materiality and subtle architectural gestures.
The entrance becomes a space in its own right.
A generous desk positioned in front of the window redefines the entrance hall, creating a place to work, read, or simply contemplate the city before moving further into the home.
Order remains in the background.
Storage is seamlessly integrated through bespoke cabinetry and concealed solutions that allow the spaces to breathe. The secondary bedroom combines its role as a guest room with additional storage capacity, providing flexibility without compromising comfort.
The kitchen complements the social experience.
Although clearly defined, it maintains a constant connection with the rest of the home through glazed partitions and a ceiling treatment that frames the space without interrupting the continuity of the flooring.
Materials tell the story.
Natural wood, stone, mirrors, and richly textured wallpapers create a warm, sophisticated atmosphere full of character. Each element has been carefully selected to bring depth, balance, and a timeless quality to the interior.
