Bori i Fontestà Residence is conceived as a space open to multiple ways of living; a home defined not by a single use, but by its ability to transform with the rhythm of those who inhabit it. A place that is not experienced linearly, but rediscovered in different ways each day.
The project begins with a clear premise. Not to divide, but to gradate. To create a continuous space where boundaries are not imposed, but softened, dissolved and redefined. Here, elegance is not displayed, but perceived in the way spaces connect, in how light is filtered, and in the precision with which each material finds its place. A home designed to be lived through experience, not image.
From the entrance, the house unfolds as a sequence of transitions. Frames, material shifts and subtle variations in scale shape a journey that does not fragment, but accompanies. Storage is integrated as part of the existing architecture rather than added onto it, reinforcing continuity and removing any unnecessary gesture.
The day area is conceived as a fluid space where kitchen, dining and living areas coexist without rigid hierarchies. The kitchen is resolved with discretion, fully integrated into the whole, designed to be used without imposing itself visually. The dining area acts as a point of balance, able to adapt to both everyday use and more social moments without losing its naturalness.
The living room is conceived as the emotional core of the home. A place to be, to pause, or to shift rhythm. The relationship between furniture, light and materiality creates a restrained atmosphere where nothing stands out, yet everything is carefully measured. Design does not disappear, but neither does it impose itself; it remains as a silent support for everyday life.
The private areas follow the same logic. The bedroom is no longer just a place to sleep, but becomes a space of retreat, almost of disappearance. A place to lower intensity, where the rhythm slows and architecture accompanies without interfering.
The project does not seek to conceal what already exists, but to work with it. To integrate, reinterpret and transform each pre-existing element into part of the narrative. Design is not disguised, but revealed through coherence and continuity.
Light, always filtered, builds the connection with the exterior. There is no explicit opening towards the city, but rather a more contained relationship, where the interior is protected without losing its connection.
