Frei + Saarinen Architekten propose to replace
the three main airports in Zurich, Basel and Geneva by a new Great
Airport in the centre of the country. The positive effects are: Less
noise exposure for the congested metropolitan areas, more efficiency, a
boost for the economically weak center part of Switzerland and t...he
chance of not making the same faults again: The Great Airport is on top
of a mountain chain. Therefore, the noise exposure for the surroundings
is much smaller. Program that is depending on closeness to airports is
