The Club House is part of an extensive housing complex of nearly 1.5 million square feet. The building houses ‘community spaces’ to include recreational, fitness and sports facilities, supplemented by essential food and beverage services. The building is arranged in a square, which is dynamically organised on the dual axis grid which is carried forward from the basic housing complex design parameters. The facilities are grouped around a central courtyard, which houses the swimming pool, addressing the privacy needs of the users, as well as creating a water feature enhancing the ambient quality of the courtyard. The building extends into the adjacent landscaped recreation area by introduction of sit-out spaces, partially covered with wooden pergolas. Use of colors to define the intersecting planes is an essential element to add interest to the architectural vocabulary, which is otherwise quite simple and basic to meet with the budgetary constraints of the developer.
