Unifying the Department’s identity and operational facilities, this building brings the Civil Aviation Department together, uniting it from disparate locations scattered across Hong Kong. The building includes three wings, each serving a different purpose. Site A houses a new energy centre for the complex, Site B accommodates the Air Traffic Control Centre, offices and training facilities with conference facilities and auditoria, and Site C is dedicated to aviation antennae facilities.
The green roofs are designed to double as camouflaged terraces for staff, solar tracking devices and fibre optic light pipes; bringing natural light into internal corridors. The triple-glazed low-E glass facades help maximize thermal insulation and acoustically isolate the buildings, providing a tranquil oasis and a high-end office for the Department, all within minutes of Hong Kong International Airport.
