WDA designed this unique, contemporary, four bed house to replace an ageing 60s bungalow in Chesterfield Close, within the Branksome Park Conservation Area in Poole, Dorset.
Simplicity, clean lines and a harmonious blend of natural and industrial materials define this new house. This modern, minimal house is set over three floors and is characterised by straight lines and geometric shapes.
The building is constructed from a masonry infill on a supported steel frame. The exterior skin is clad in local Purbeck limestone, offering warm beige tones to contrast the dark grey of the pre-patinated Zinc cladding.
Floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors throughout the house, allows natural light to flood the interior and maximise view of the garden, establishing a visual connection between the inside and outside spaces.
The use of high quality materials such as stone, extend to the interior, creating a sense of continuity. Stone feature walls add warmth and texture to key areas, whilst large expanses of cool white painted walls maintain the overall minimalist aesthetic.
