A quiet dialogue between architecture and landscape, overlooking Lake Champlain.
This contemporary retreat is embedded in its natural context and carefully scaled, with a 320 m² of interior space distributed across two levels. The architecture is defined by clean lines and precise volumes, anchored into the terrain and opening deliberately toward the lake to frame long, uninterrupted views.
The main level is organized around a generous double-height living space that brings together the living room, dining area, and kitchen, all oriented toward Lake Champlain through expansive glazed façades. This level prioritizes openness, daylight, and fluid circulation, while maintaining a strong sense of shelter.
Private spaces are arranged more discreetly across the project, with bedrooms, guest rooms, and workspaces positioned to balance intimacy and views. A partially embedded lower level accommodates additional private rooms and service spaces, reinforcing the building’s grounded relationship with the landscape.
Natural materials—warm timber, exposed concrete, and dark metal—create a restrained and timeless palette. Large exterior terraces extend the interior living areas outward, offering approximately 80–120 m² of outdoor space, where fire, water, and horizon meet.
A project that explores balance — between solidity and lightness, openness and protection, architecture and nature.
