Chabahar Resort Project is a residential-recreational project in Ramin region of Chabahar. The project’s site is located between the main road of Chabahar-Baris and the Oman Sea. The cultural, social, historical, climatic, and geographical characteristics of the context, as well as the project’s program, created a number of questions that were attempted to be answered with a proper stance. Due to the wide length of the site, the east-west axis was considered the dominant, and the north-south one was the active axis of the site. The later connects the crowded area of the Chabahar-Baris Road in the north to the silence and peace of the Oman Sea in the south like a gradient. Therefore, by locating the public and recreational programs in the northern part of the site, not only do they provide services to tourists, but also they act as a filter for accommodation units.
The process of design started by dividing the site geometry into a number of ribbons in the east-west direction and altering the height of each ribbon vertically. These changes occurred in a way that the boundary of each program got placed inside a square-shaped grid. With minor unevenness of the surrounding, the project decides to take the ground as a flexible plate and introduces itself not as an imposed element, but as an element arising from the ground. The project has also some references to its context. In the iconic layer, its form reminds of the appearance of “Kapar”, which is one of the main forms of residential architecture in Baluchestan as well as the Martian mountains of the site. Similarly, in the index layer, the built area opens towards the sea and closes in the direction of the street like some creatures who are sitting on the site while looking at the Oman Sea. In addition, the project construction spot was formed during a free interpretation of Baluchi needlework geometrical patterns.
