This project stems from the desire of a couple—without children—to transform their home into a unique, tailor-made space, investing their savings into a residence where every detail has been carefully considered to suit their needs and lifestyle.
The original layout featured a conventional arrangement, but one that was overly compartmentalized due to the triangular geometry of the perimeter. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen, the space lacked flexibility.
The proposal organizes the home into three horizontal bands, each with a clearly defined function. The “night zone” houses the bedrooms and wet areas, while the “day zone” is dedicated to the living and dining areas. The central band, which includes the kitchen and storage, acts as a connector between these two spaces.
The interior design focused on the precise selection of each element—from furniture to art and decor—creating a home with a clear and orderly layout. The intervention in the central band, which structures the home according to daytime and nighttime use, allowed for refined detailing that enhances both the functionality and aesthetics of each space.
This layout made it possible to add an extra window in the living room, offering panoramic views toward the Pardo hills and turning the living area into a more open, versatile, and adaptable environment for daily life.
The kitchen is integrated openly with the living space, yet maintains a clear spatial distinction. Located within the central band, it is conceived as a modular piece of furniture. It consists of a bookcase that acts as a transitional foyer, two kitchen modules, and a storage area—creating a fluid and functional atmosphere.
The home’s triangular geometry is used to carve out a trapezoidal space, giving rise to a walk-in closet defined by a different flooring. The final band contains the master bedroom with a fully renovated en-suite bathroom, a second full bathroom, and the laundry area. A textured hallway between the two bands acts as a geometric canvas, visually unifying the space and creating a harmonious and detailed atmosphere.
A project that transforms a conventional apartment into a unique, flexible home, organized through horizontal bands that clearly distinguish the day and night zones. With a thoughtful selection of materials and furnishings, every detail is designed to create a functional, adaptable, and visually harmonious living space.
