The apartment, a 80sq meter plan, had
the typical 1960 organization, a
very big entry, with a big wasting of space, a very small living room and a
narrow and long bathroom with two regular bedroom on the side?.
The real task was to totally
reorganize the space and it?s perception.
The renovation was radical, all
the existing walls were demolished with the exception of the only structural
column in the middle of the square plan. the house was divided in three major
areas, that we can define as ?public?, ?filter? and ?private?.
The entrance of the
apartment is voluntarily lower, the
ceiling is 2.40 mt height, and so are all the special sliding doors, and it
remain like this to determine the filter area; a series of spot lights mark
this moment and conduct visually to the large open space that host the open
kitchen and the living area; the filter, that lead to the private area, where
the master and guest are located; there are also two walking closet and a tiny
yellow bathroom with shower and a special bathroom suite.
The white colour is the dominant theme all around the
house to give the sense pureness and of larger spaces. The light plays another
important role to define the architecture of the space.
The flooring is oak wood essence and is placed
everywhere in the apartments including the two bathrooms.
