Casa Malinalco is a residence conceived with the intention of creating generous, open spaces that dissolve the conventional boundaries between interior and exterior. The design responds to a clear desire to integrate with the surrounding environment while complying with the regulations set by the golf club committee in which the house is located.
The project unfolds over two levels. The ground floor is designed to prioritise social life and collective living. It houses the leisure and interaction areas, encouraging communal activity and informal gathering. The architectural layout promotes spatial continuity, extending the interior experience toward the garden and exterior terraces, thus fostering a fluid connection with the outdoors.
In contrast, the upper level introduces a more introspective and private atmosphere. This floor accommodates the bedrooms and resting areas, designed to take advantage of the building’s height and to draw the landscape inward. Circulation paths and strategic openings allow for close engagement with the surrounding vegetation and panoramic views, bringing nature into the domestic realm.
Altogether, Casa Malinalco proposes a contemporary architectural language that seeks to balance leisure and contemplation. Through sensory-rich experiences, shaped by visual frames, axial perspectives, and carefully orchestrated lighting, the project offers a response that is both attuned to its context and deeply connected to the lives of its inhabitants.
