Casa Levene - build by the architect Eduardo Arroyo for Richard Levene, the director and founder of El Croquis Magazine.
The house is located in the spanish village San Lorenzo de El Escorial, in the natural environment of Monte Abantos, surrounded by an ancient pine tree forest.

Arroyo, architect of the NO MAD studio aimed to create a house that was at the same time intergated and standing out of the forest. His plans had to be adapted, complying height and maximal roof inclination to the municipal regulations. The result is a non-cartesian geometry shaped building, unique and outstanding, one of the most famous spanish house designs of the last years.

The house was selected for the “Best architectural design” prize of the Brit Museum of Design in 2008. It received the first price International Aluminair in 2007 and it was part of the exhibition “On-Site: New Architecture in Spain” organized at MOMA in 2006.
