Rightly named Casa Curva, curved geometries govern the home and subconsciously become the binding force too. It is a neatly designed 3BHK in Kalpataru Parkcity, Thane where soft pastels and wooden tones are chosen to maintain a refined and sophisticated yet warm and minimal palette. Throughout the 1,350 sq. ft., the curves soften the edges, ease its occupants, highlight the beauty of materials, and become artworks in themselves. The living room sees the wall becoming a life-size mural of oblong adornations, the wall sconces as illuminating globes, and the barrel-shaped side tables tying it all together. The kitchen and dining in the same space become the ideal morning spot with the breakfast counter connecting itself to the kitchen area. Here the kitchen gets a beautiful arch as a frame while the oval mirrors on the wall complement the same.
All the three bedrooms continue the same language of geometry and shades, only with an addition of a mauve colour palette that acts as the accent. The little study nook, headboards, mouldings and mirrors on the walls, and the accent inserts on the cabinets are balanced by the straight lines followed in curtains, wardrobe units, and bedside tables. Designed by Anmol Waychal of his eponymous firm in collaboration with Prashant Katkade of Studio Two Bricks, the home delivers the curve promise, but also takes care of the other needs: storage spaces, other personalisations, and a small home for the gods — making it truly a home that is suited for its residents.
