The Capella at Galaxy redefines the meaning of luxury and the boundaries of hotel and tower design. Its stunning visual presence, harmonious integration with the existing development, and meticulous attention to detail makes it a true landmark of the Cotai Strip and the city. The design, led by Aedas Executive Director Albert Tong, highlights the sophisticated urban fabric and echoes Macau’s landscape.
Located in the heart of the Galaxy development, the 17-storey hotel is located in a courtyard featuring 95 Penthouses and Suites, with seamless connections to the existing retail and entertainment facilities around the development.
Throughout the design development process, Aedas transformed key challenges into groundbreaking innovations, redefining luxury. One such challenge was the site, an enclosed courtyard at the heart of the development, which presented tight spatial constraints. Turning limitations into opportunities, the team reimagined the space, creating a seamless, fluid and grandeur journey throughout the building. This vision was further brought to life through the use of large format glass, namely throughout the tower facade, making the view from the rooms look completely frameless.
In each of the balconies of the Sky Villas that occupy the top floors, is a 11m infinity-edge pool fronted in a single sheet of acrylic, giving guests an unprecedented sense of openness and connectivity with the outside world. Besides the balcony and pool, each sky villa features an outdoor lounge, sunroom, and winter garden, providing guests with unique and memorable experiences year-round.
The building’s distinctive silhouette is characterised by its sweeping curves and soaring gold glass façade, like a flowing haute couture ball gown. The public spaces on podium features frameless floor to ceiling structural glazing. The minimalist façades provide exceptional visual connection between the interior and exterior, enhancing the sense of transparency and spaciousness.
‘The Capella at Galaxy Macau is an architectural statement that seamlessly blends form and function, embodying excellence in the craft of hospitality.’ Albert shares.
