Located in the exclusive gated community El Cantón in Escobar, Buenos Aires Province, this weekend residence was designed for a couple of golf enthusiasts seeking a gathering place for their children and grandchildren.
The design emerged from the morphology of the 1,500 m² lot: its fan-shaped geometry opens toward the imposing views of the golf course. The strategy was to expand the house as much as possible within this generous site, integrating interior courtyards that blur the boundary with the landscape, allowing for full engagement with the outdoors, while also bringing northern light into the social areas.
The ground floor layout is organized around a clear central axis—marked by the staircase and two flanking courtyards—which separates the expansive social area overlooking the golf course from the private guest rooms. The upper floor is reserved exclusively for the owners and includes a master suite with walk-in closet and bathroom, as well as a bright atelier for the owner, who is a visual artist.
Regarding construction, noble and low-maintenance materials were prioritized. The ground floor is conceived as a continuous exposed reinforced-concrete base that embraces the courtyards and extends outward to frame the views, even wrapping one of the upper-floor patios. Double brick masonry walls with an air cavity were used to ensure excellent thermal insulation, along with PVC frames with double-glazed hermetic glass (DGH) and cross-ventilation. Petiribí wood was selected for both interior and exterior detailing.
Casa L&H is a clear example of how Grupo DWG translates the client’s complex needs—such as creating a weekend home for golf lovers—into architectural solutions that are sensitive, practical, and efficient.
