The Calamos Investments Chicago office establishes a distinctive workplace identity through the careful integration of material craftsmanship, architectural form, and hospitality-driven experience. Occupying three floors within Fulton East, a health-focused office building in Chicago’s Fulton Market District, serves as both a client-facing destination and a high-performance environment for wealth management and trading operations.
The interior concept is defined by a dialogue between classic, timeless materiality and modern, refined architectural expression. Honed stone, fluted wood, bronze-toned metal, and layered glass are composed with restraint and precision, creating a tactile environment where detailing and proportion replace ornament. Key architectural elements, including the reception desk, feature walls, curved partitions, and arched thresholds are designed as integral parts of the building rather than applied finishes, allowing the space to read as a cohesive architectural composition.
The experience of the Calamos office is shaped through a carefully sequenced progression of spaces, moving from a composed arrival into expansive hospitality and meeting areas framed by panoramic city views. The 12th-floor penthouse houses a broadcast studio, executive meeting spaces, and social lounges that support both client engagement and internal culture. Two additional floors accommodate wealth management and trading teams, organized for clarity, acoustic performance, and operational efficiency.
Daylight, layered lighting, and biophilic cues are integrated throughout to support well-being within a highly controlled financial workplace. Custom millwork, stone reveals, and precision-aligned lighting create subtle rhythms of light and shadow, reinforcing the project’s commitment to architectural craft.
As an extension of the firm’s headquarters campus, the Chicago office strengthens Calamos’ presence in the city while establishing a benchmark for how material intelligence and design rigor can define a modern financial workplace.
