The Centro de Atención Ciudadana (CAC) in Portoviejo is a modern and functional infrastructure that brings together 24 public institutions in one place, with the aim of providing quality social, administrative, and financial services to citizens. The building was constructed in a period of 222 days on a 2.4-hectare plot of land and has four floors and an accessible terrace. Inside, there are 124 citizen service windows, training rooms, a medical center, a lactation room, a cafeteria, and various services for the community. The CAC in Portoviejo directly benefits 310,582 users and indirectly benefits 1,510,375 inhabitants of the Province of Manabí.
The project was designed taking into consideration the comfort of its inhabitants, which has been the predominant factor, considering the urban factor and its interrelation with the cities to be located as one of the basic elements in the implementation of the building. The project is based on the structural module of 6 meters x 9 meters, obeying the initial modulation that arises from the square of 1.5 on each side, which allows for easy ordering of the interior space of the set, as well as the distribution of furniture. The building is made up of three independent bodies that start from two horizontal bars, a main one of approximately 295 feet long by 60 feet wide, and a secondary one of approximately 164 feet long by 60 feet wide, which are connected by means of an annex rectangular body. Hierarchy has been given in the spaces of the project, such as the double-height entrance that organizes and distributes the activities of the spaces horizontally, as well as the incorporation of natural light and ventilation.
The Centro de Atención Ciudadana (CAC) has the particularity of being designed to be implanted in various terrains at the national level, according to the needs of the user and complying with the appropriate dimensions.
