Faced with a chaotic layout—narrow main spaces and a lack of storage—the proposal focuses on enhancing and distinguishing the daytime living areas, making the most of natural light and outdoor connection. The goal is to eliminate hallways as mere circulation elements, and instead define clear cores that organize both rooms and storage zones.
A change in flooring—wooden planks, microcement, or granite—creates visual contrasts that help differentiate the various environments. Storage is a key element in this project. To optimize space, custom storage modules are designed around these organizing cores, integrating furniture and efficiently separating different areas.
A central piece of furniture separates the living-dining room from the kitchen. Wooden flooring continues into the living area, where two openings are carved into the partition wall: one leads to a guest WC, the other to an elevated study, generating the impression of a "hollowed cube." A 20 cm level difference, combined with a flooring change, defines a unique space that remains visually integrated with the living room while offering a distinct retreat. Like a small jewel embedded in the layout, this study-library invites occupation, offering a fresh perspective on the space.
The bedrooms offer increased privacy without sacrificing natural light, which remains a key element throughout. Doors are fully integrated into the cabinetry, optimizing spatial flow and enhancing storage. The primary bedroom includes an open en-suite bathroom, connected both to the room and to a small inner patio. A shift in flooring marks the transition into this area, where tall vegetation ensures privacy while maintaining openness.
The proposal for this corner penthouse evolved significantly at the start of construction, following the discovery of unexpected structural elements and complex geometries. These became protagonists of the spatial intervention, introducing new sensations and previously unimagined corners—elements rarely found in a private residence. Here, the overall design becomes a canvas.
