Area for settlement is becoming increasingly scarce, especially in the Alpine regions such as Vorarlberg (Austria). It is therefore absolutely necessary to handle the available space with care. In Götzis, the classical possibilities of urban planning were used in this limited space to create paths and squares, places of communication, but also of privacy. The goal was to invoke similar feelings of comfort, wellbeing and identity as in a real city.
Shingles were chosen for the sculptural façades as they are durable and thus also sustainable. In addition, they match the building tradition of the country and are therefore well appreciated by the residents.
