This historic Brooklyn Heights brownstone was ready for a transformative interiors update. Our clients’ extensive art collection was beautifully showcased on its walls, but the living room was under furnished, and the room felt awkward and empty despite its lovely proportions. We refurbished a few of our clients’ favorite pieces, updating them with new upholstery, and selected new furniture to create two complementary seating areas that can be flexibly arranged for large gatherings. The graciously furnished living room now welcomes visitors with a harmonious blend of vibrant colors and playful patterns, creating an inviting atmosphere. A bespoke runner, inspired by the captivating work of Anish Kapoor, graces the staircase at the first and second floors. Its ombre design activates and brightens the space with a contemporary flair and a nod to the art.
Thoughtfully curated touches to the furnishings and design of the upper-floor TV room and guest room elevate these spaces, which have been reimagined through a lens of modernity and sophistication. Colorful patterns enliven seating areas, and sculptural furniture complements the artful home. The combination seamlessly integrates a fresh aesthetic while honoring the home’s historic past. Each element works in tandem to create an environment that is both stylish and welcoming, embodying the essence of gracious living.
