The common area for a building in a recreational island in Panama was designed through the concept of recreating an oasis in the midst of an ever moving society. The slope of the terrain is used as a base to construct several platforms in a stair-like structure and overlook the beautiful ocean views. The pools and water structures follow the same forms and create waterfalls that surround the lounge areas and give the space a harmonic, relaxing ambiance.
Landscaping played a crucial role in the spaces distribution, and was placed to make the entire space feel as if its being absorbed by its natural surroundings. The materials used echoed this concept with warm and raw finishes but kept a modern and simple aesthetic.
