After a short walk through a meandering private trail, one is lead to a modern oasis. Native, indigenous planting material nestles this intimate dwelling. This organic modern structure is writhe with indoor and outdoor framed spaces that create an undulating play with its surrounding. Clad with blackened metal and burned wood, the exterior glistens as graphite lead.
In stark contrast, the fine hand applied plaster and concrete walls provide a negative canvas for the constant rich shadows cast from the trees above at the interiors. Upon entering, the layout provides surfaces to art and abundant natural light. Framed spaces continue their path within, as a proud gable outlines the ceiling of an expansive dining and gathering area. The gable extends beyond the glazing by means of a trellis, continuing the rhythm of the balance within. By redirecting the path to tucked in kitchen, a surprising fully custom ebony stained kitchen is discovered, detailed with delicate metal trims. The terrain walks offer the feeling of a unique environment while actually within several feet from Montauk Highway. Organic Modern in scale, texture and form all respecting the site to which they are born.
