Nature is our relief. It empowers us to follow its flows, be flexible, adaptable and celebrate the spirit of youthfulness. By blending the edge between the human habitat and the natural world, and stripping it from the past, present or future ties, we are creating a sympathetic and well-integrated structure with its surroundings to be part of a unified world.
The concept of fluidity in the Cambridge dictionary is the state of matter in which the structure changes constantly and spontaneously. It is a state of uncertainty and flow. Mohamed Badie, lead architect at Badie Architects, describes his approach in designing as an experimental and analytical one. His use of the fluid concept creates a theatrical scenic interior inspired by fluid architecture. In his opinion, fluidity in design can answer to the needs of human beings, and can provide a visual insight in scenic architecture. The aesthetic and visual values of the concept of fluidity, and the need to clarify the possibility of using the concept of fluidity and to benefit from it in designing visual compositions that can be used in the formation of innovative theatrical scenes is something essential to Badie. He made it the primary language for the studio's architectural projects. Experience in theatrical design creates a new language for communicating with the recipient.
In this design, Badie is testing the practicality of creating a closer connection to nature through the ways buildings and landscapes are created and built. Biophilia means a love of nature and the fluidity one finds in nature. This is exactly what Badie is creating today, a sense of harmony between modern architecture and interior design with the natural world of curves and greenery. Nature is our relief; it empowers us to follow its flows, be flexible, adaptable and celebrate the spirit of youthfulness. By blending the edge between the human habitat and the natural world, and stripping it from the past, present or future ties, Badie Architects are creating a sympathetic and well-integrated structure with its surroundings to be part of a unified world.
This project was meant to tell a story about nature and architectural exploration. As guests enter the site they find themselves in this Utopian land of jungles and lakes hugging the rock-like hotel accommodation buildings. Even the buildings were meant to look non man-made structures. They blend with nature to create a organism-like creature ready to facilitate the guests with a functional programmed design.
