Puzzle.Buzz is the next social networking architectural game in Palm Springs where the inhabitants are the center of attention. Take a tour through Puzzle.Buzz and discover what your neighborhood is buzzing about. Interact and create new connections between the different blocks of the puzzle. A new bigger buzz may appear and if you dislike it, you may detach yourself at anytime and find peace in your private yard or your intimate roof terrace. When the time arises, you may slowly shift towards your closer neighbor in the garden and seek for new connections.Puzzle.Buzz blends in beautifully with the landscape and a sinuous movement permits one to wander freely between Puzzle.Buzz, the “Berm” and the Leisure Center.  The entrance of the resort is marked in the middle by the strong presence of two recreational buildings for accommodating nightclubs, restaurants and a gaming center. With its organic form it is fully connected to Puzzle.Buzz, yet its curves, material and color relate more to the ground and the landscape of the “Berm”. They constitute corners of the puzzle and propose contrasting starting points for the next buzz. Whether you are part of Puzzle.Buzz or not, you are invited to gossip and take part in the game. By a play of attaching and detaching the pieces of the puzzle, you dynamically create an intimate a nurturing relationship between your own private sphere and the community.Inside the house, the space is elastic and invites you to create new connections between spaces. You are in-between the buzz, trapped inside the puzzle, yet through sinuous openings you enjoy the surroundings. Balconies, bow windows, roof canopies, screens and landscape elements blur the distinction between each space and function. The continuous smooth lines maximize the confusion between outdoor and indoor, between privacy and publicity. Similar to a puzzle, you are invited to manipulate your perception and find a solution. You never know, you might come up with a new buzz.Single-story and double-story units create a playful mix of puzzle pieces that are rotated and positioned freely in groups of three inside the site. Screening elements at the front and at the back of the single-story units give shade and privacy to the roof terraces while framing stunning views to the mountains. In Puzzle.Buzz, there is always the potential for integrating unique lighting and media elements into the pulsating skin for promoting a new buzz. The white facades of the housing units are made out of either white Stucco or white Polyurethane on wood. There is also the possibility of using shiny mosaic tiles for the surface. Just buzz with the puzzle.Openings to the edge of the site create direct relationships to the rest of the community. The changing perspective stimulates you to create connections and separations between the pieces of the puzzle. The Puzzle.Buzz does not have one single solution, one identity or a singular statement. It is unpredictable, challenging and creative. It’s all a buzz. It’s Puzzle.Buzz!
