Global client, Blackstone (BXii), retained M Moser to develop a new workplace for Blackstone Innovations – the company’s technology team in New York City. The goal for the new, 30,000-square-foot-space was to create an office that felt flexible, agile, and true to Blackstone Innovation’s creative culture and collaborative style of work. After extensive discussion and research into the fluid and flexible manner in which this team worked, M Moser created space typologies that would support their agile workflow, foster positive culture, and attract and retain the best talent. Functionality was key with the design.
BXii wanted a space that felt bold and raw, but not overdone. This meant multifunctional spaces that would change and adapt based on type of use. It also applied to efficiency of use – everything was intentional and purposeful. Because they work differently than their corporate counterpart, BXii wanted transparency and collaboration to come through from an architectural perspective. The design concept features a series of neighborhood spaces that have traditional desks, as well as open collaborative areas and meeting rooms – encouraging cross-pollination among staff.
