The brief was to create a warm and welcoming space with character, to attract new patrons to this inner-city corner cafe`.
The existing cafe` space was maintained and re-furbished with a central bar, surrounded by separate seating areas, to allow abundant natural light to flow from all areas, while also to encourage social interaction between patrons and bar staff for a more convivial dining experience.
The refurbishment aims to create a cosy and elegant environment by using a simple palette of quality, earthy materials like natural woods, mild steel and ceramics to evoke a Mediterranean-inspired feel. Existing period features were retained and restored to highlight their rustic charm.
