Cycling is a very popular form of exercise in Denmark. This is reflected in the high number of cyclists on the roads, mountain bikers in the woods and BMX’ers in cities.
The vast majority of bicyclists are self-organized, but the number of members in bicycle clubs is increasing rapidly. I opposition to members of football clubs and other sports, cyclists have no tradition for clubhouses – and certainly not across the bike disciplines.
The Bycycle Hub must be both a meeting place and a center of activity. The Bicycle Hub is where experience can be passed on in the workshop, where the driving technique can be polished of in the outdoor area and where the experience of the major stages in the Tour, the Giro and the Vuelta can be shared or the latest tricks shown on the big screen in the café!
Lokale og Anlægsfonden has teamed up with NORD Architects and compiled a list of options for a project like this. A place where cyclists can gather across the cycling disciplines and create a new common culture for their passion of bicycling.
