Located in Quebec City, the Boucher-Gagnon family chose to establish itself strategically, to profit by the suburb feeling of the area, with majestic trees, tranquility, a beautiful park nearby the river and many services such as a sport center, a public swimming pool, a golf course, shopping center, restaurants, movie theater, etc.
The peculiar shape of the site, in angles, the great difference in level at the back, the neighbouring national heritage house and the presence of mature trees are the main challenges that the design team had to work with. The facing used is in accordance with the facing of the nearby national heritage house, as required by the owner, who ceded the ground where the B/G House was built. The family had quite simple needs; two stories with a basement, a master bedroom and two bedrooms for the children, open and bright common spaces, great outside view, a three-door garage, an outside terrace, a swimming pool and spa, and the desire to maximize the layout. In short, an ideal house for the family.
