Bathhouse is a wellness destination with two locations in New York: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and Flatiron District in Manhattan. COLLECTIF designed the new mechanical system to serve further retail expansion and any back-of-house spaces in its 25,000 GSF Williamsburg location.
For the Flatiron location, Bathhouse acquired 36,000 square feet of underground parking garage within an existing building, which was converted into occupiable spaces consisting of spas, banyas, saunas, and office spaces. COLLECTIF led the design of the MEP systems and supporting infrastructure. The mechanical system consists of variable refrigerant flow systems. The domestic hot water and pools are preheated with waste heat from the air conditioning system and supplemented by waste heat generated by an adjacent Bitcoin mining operation.
