With more than 500 attorneys, Ballard Spahr is one of the largest law firms in the United States. Francis Cauffman designed the renovated regional headquarters in Philadelphia, to accommodate up to 250 attorneys and firm-wide support staff. The offices required the development of a logical layout and more collaborative spaces and included a new conference center to serve as the front door of the firm. Perimeter common areas for informal gatherings and customized open plan benching workstations were designed. Glass fronts were also implemented on perimeter offices for both natural light and views of Center City Philadelphia.
