Perched on a sloping hill in Sag Harbor’s historic SANS community, our Azurest Legacy project integrates passive technology while harmonizing with the landscape. Stacked and tilted parallelograms efficiently make use of the tight corner site, their rhythm informed by the topography. This effect of dynamic rising gives the building a triumphant air; a link between the treasured history of the neighborhood and the energy of new design. Sustainably sourced Accoya clads the house and rainscreens, rooting the building in the Modern legacy of the East End. Designed with a program for entertaining and living closely with nature, Azurest Legacy strikes a balance between privacy and openness.
