HOK’s design creates a contemporary space that promotes collaboration and Avon’s brand while reducing its environmental impact.
In addition to makings its new Manhattan offices look beautiful and create a feminine, timeless environment, Avon asked HOK’s design team to create collaborative space and efficiencies that would reduce occupancy costs.
For the open-plan environment, HOK worked with Avon to standardize a one-size workstation that would reduce the cost of moves while providing flexibility for future changes. Collaborative spaces include communal pantries, AV-equipped conference rooms and a Telepresence video conference facility that connects Avon associates worldwide. The headquarters also contains a jewelry design studio, photo studio, image room and company store.
Pending USGBC approval, Avon will be the only cosmetics company in New York with a LEED Gold office space. With a focus on FSC-certified wood, regionally sourced materials, energy efficiency and recycled content, Avon’s headquarters demonstrates its commitment to people and the environment.
