A 19th-century Back Bay townhouse, reworked top to bottom for modern city living. The original layout — dim, boxy Victorian rooms — gave way to an open first floor centered on a daylit stairwell, its schist-clad wall anchoring a built-in dining banquette. Kitchen, dining, and living areas now run together as one continuous space, while a glass bridge on the second floor links two bedroom suites and keeps light moving through the home. A top-floor office opens to a private terrace, and a renovated roof deck with a kitchenette and infrared heating extends living space outdoors most of the year. White Carrara marble, matte lacquer cabinetry, and warm oak flooring carry the material palette throughout — clean-lined but livable, with room for a few playful pieces to stand out.
