Artisan House, a slender 400 foot (135m) tall mixed-use building, is located in Sai Ying Pun, a burgeoning Hong Kong Central neighborhood characterized
by new high rises interspersed amongst the older low density buildings.
The design balances the high rise’s iconic blade-like volume with connections to the scale of the neighborhood through smaller articulations in its massing and materials. The building’s 250 studio,
one and two bedroom units range between 200—350 sf (19-34m2), and feature high ceilings, full-height glazing, and compact, efficient layouts that maximize their sense of spaciousness.
In addition to restaurants and shops in the building’s base, residents share amenity spaces including a clubhouse and sky garden.
Angled mirrored balcony soffits reflect the city and sky in new ways, reframing the building’s environment. Meanwhile from within the units, the mirrored balconies act as mini periscopes to connect the residents to the vibrant street activity below.
