About the Project

Located near Saint Petersburg, CASA DEI DESIDERI — “House of Desires” — is a 1,000 m² residence where architecture and nature exist in perfect harmony. Designed by Studia 54, the project unites strict northern aesthetics with emotional warmth, combining modern geometry, natural materials, and a seamless connection to the surrounding landscape.

Architecture & Style

Inspired by the aesthetics of the “Northern House,” the residence features dark facades, strong overhangs, and durable natural finishes. The structure’s geometry integrates gracefully with the site, creating a balance between privacy and openness. Panoramic glazing blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing residents to stay visually connected to nature at every moment. Despite its scale, the home feels light, functional, and deeply human.

Landscape & Surroundings

The landscape continues the architectural rhythm — paths, greenery, and water elements form a unified composition. Coniferous trees and native vegetation preserve the site’s natural character, while carefully placed shrubs and green “islands” provide texture and depth year-round.
An artificial pond with a cascading fountain mirrors the dark facades, bringing movement, reflection, and a calming soundscape to the space. Here, nature and design coexist, not in contrast but in conversation.

Interior Life

The floor plan was developed with a large family in mind, separating private and public zones for optimal comfort. Private areas include bedrooms for adults, children, and staff, while communal spaces — a pool, spa, and open terraces — foster togetherness.
The home’s smart system allows control over lighting, climate, and ambiance throughout the day, adapting to the family’s routines and moods.

Atmosphere & Emotions

The house transforms with light and season. Morning sunlight fills the terraces, while evening reflections in the pool and soft interior lighting create tranquility. Winter emphasizes the northern minimalism; summer opens the home to the landscape through vast terraces and greenery.
Art objects, sculptures, and installations play a key role in shaping the emotional landscape — each piece adding depth, warmth, and inspiration to daily life.

The Inner Garden

At the core of the residence lies an indoor garden — the living heart of the house. Under a glass dome, natural light nourishes lush greenery, creating a sense of serenity and connection with nature. The garden evolves with time and light, offering a meditative space that embodies the project’s essence: unity between architecture and the natural world.
