A conversion and rooftop extension for a young family in an existing duplex in Little Italy. Like an octopus, the meandering arms of the circulation system connect program elements and reach out to different openings to bring light into the center of the volume. Level changes, unexpected double-height spaces, and opportune views to the exterior create a varied set of experiences inside relatively simple volumes.
