VAN PHONG AIRPORT COMPETITION
Designed by Vo Huu Linh Architects
Located along the coastline of Van Phong Bay, the proposal rethinks the airport as a climate-responsive mobility infrastructure rather than a conventional transportation terminal.
The project explores the relationship between architecture, ocean landscape, and future transit systems through a continuous spatial megastructure integrated with land, sea, and air mobility.
A large perforated roof canopy becomes the environmental identity of the terminal, filtering tropical daylight, reducing solar heat gain, and creating naturally ventilated public spaces beneath.
The terminal is organized through layered circulation systems, separating arrival, departure, intermodal transit, and public landscapes into a clear and efficient operational network.
Instead of treating infrastructure as isolated engineering objects, the proposal envisions the airport as an ecological mobility landscape — where transportation, architecture, and environmental performance operate as one integrated system.
The design reflects the philosophy of Vo Huu Linh Architects:
“Create Space, Inspire Life”
