With a growing client base and the need to transform their practice in response to population health and wellness demands, two eye surgeons embarked on constructing a new eye center on a 6-acre site south of downtown Marysville. The two surgeon’s vision yields to developing a state-of-the-art comprehensive eye clinic that includes eye and retinal surgery and procedures, eye wellness and education, as well as a full-service optical dispensary.
The floor plan allows for “team-based” care and flexibility to use rooms interchangeably, thus meeting the demand from both population health and ever-evolving medical practice. The lobby connects and flows into the retail optical center allowing the customer to have a “one-stop” shop for their eye care and wellness needs. Registration occurs with the aid of customer care associates that come from behind the counter, greet and assist patients in the lobby area, thus elevating personal interaction, transforming the patient experience, and increasing client satisfaction. Also located in the facility is a shared conference center the public may utilize for community and group education classes.
The building strives to be contemporary and set a new standard for design in the Marysville area. Several site easements to the north side of the building allow for the development of an entrance garden that correlates to the clean lines of the architecture. The exterior has been designed to and will be the first project under the new Marysville Design Review District standards promoting the city’s walkability and sustainable planning principles.
