AeroCentreV was the first project completed by Sweeny&Co using BIM, initiated in2007, and is centrally positioned within the Airport Corporate Centre, with high visibility for signage and branding opportunities. This landmark suburban office building design has enormous 45,000 sf floor plates within a low rise building totaling 225,000 sf of rentable space. Five floors of office space sit above three levels of parking deck, setting the first office floor of AC-V at the level of a typical fourth floor, offering premium views. The integrated parking decks provide proximity to entrance elevators, alleviating concern for security and providing weather-protected parking without the cost of excavation.
Sweeny&Co, collaborated with HOOPP, to create an environmentally responsible building that is designed to exceed today’s workplace needs of flexibility with large uninterrupted planning space and extremely efficient space utilization. AC-V’s design and advanced building systems originally targeted LEED® Silver but achieved Gold Certification in 2010. With under-floor HVAC that also housed cable distribution and plug-and-play systems, each occupant is provided thermal comfort by adjusting the in-floor ventilation.
With high performance design and technology, AC-V will provide tenants with many added features designed to increase human comfort and flexibility while reducing occupancy costs. The building’s layout and technology will reduce tenants’ initial fit-up, operating, and ongoing churn costs.
