Led by Aedas Executive Director Kelvin Hu, the team has created a new landmark Xiyue Tower in Longgang where innovative industries are clustered in Shenzhen. The tower will provide a high-end working environment, accompanied with uniqueness and accessibility to the surrounding industries.
Closely connected to Longgang Boulevard and metro system, the tower is also adjacent to various natural landscapes and enjoy mountainous view. ‘The tower is a mixed-use project consisting of office and retail functions, forming a vertical community that highlights the corporate identity and urban skyline.’ Aedas Executive Director Kelvin Hu says.
Sits in the west of the plot, the office tower mimics the form of a bamboo. The retreated tower bottom creates a spacious podium and private garden. With a unique architectural form, the tower is an ecological office region by incorporating abundant green spaces including refugee floors and rooftop garden.
A vibrant architectural form is created through varied volumes of retail street, retail blocks and the tower itself. The porous environment connects with the pedestrian system and brings a dynamic retail experience to visitors. The podium has high connectivity to the tower, in the meanwhile enjoys certain privacy as the public retail space is separated from the office space.
On the second floor of the podium, the metro station is seamlessly connected to a 24/7 landscape bridge, which echo the surrounding urban context. An ecological atrium is created with vivid retail space, separating the adjacent developments and creating a unique arrival experience.
The communal space on the east consistently adopts the same architectural language and immerses into the natural landscape. Creating an open, recreational public plaza, brick-like and wooden floor finishes are used, as well as the seats along the pool.
The tower stitches various functions to form a vertical mixed commercial community, incorporating the urban context, serenity and functionality.
