The Admissions, Communication & Marketing Offices at the International School of Beijing are designed as a welcoming, highly legible workplace that supports the school’s public-facing functions. The project balances operational efficiency with an inviting atmosphere, offering a clear spatial experience for both staff and visiting families.
The layout is organized around a central communal space that anchors circulation and encourages informal interaction. This shared core improves orientation and visibility while creating moments for exchange beyond formal meetings.
Material choices shape the character of the interiors. Soft felt surfaces, inspired by the school’s signature blue, provide acoustic comfort and visual warmth, while wood elements and integrated planting introduce a sense of calm and tactility. Work areas and meeting rooms are arranged to support both focused tasks and collaboration, with daylight and carefully considered lighting enhancing overall comfort.
Through restrained architectural gestures and a coherent material language, the project transforms an administrative environment into a space that reflects ISB’s values of openness, communication, and community.
