In the city center of Abrantes we can find the Municipal Market. As we go in, the video takes us through the contrast between the white walls and the living colors of the flowers and fruits they are selling. We keep going and as we go up the spiral staircase we are allowed to explore the 3 floors of the market. Yet this staircase serves more than one purpose as it also makes a bridge between two streets. Downstairs we have Tribunal Square and 13m above we have Nossa Senhora da Conceição street. The video takes the most of the two-story high ceiling showing that there is a full and clear visibility of the space no matter what floor we’re in. In the top of the building there are two volumes that let in the natural light, following the inner curves of the market. The space lives out of that light that enhances the textures, the materials as well as the colors.
