Meeting the needs and expectations of a dynamic and colourful couple in today's modern living, A2 Amsterdam House was designed by the award-winning global design studio Ofist with modern touches, just enough but cosy and comfortable furniture, emphasizing the colourful art pieces and accessories.
Located on Ceintuurbaan, a typical Amsterdam building is housing this cosy home for a vibrant couple. Over a typical street and facing a beautiful greenery, it is a very characteristic building. In parallel to the architecture, the interior is also full of character. With huge windows and high ceilings, the flat is very spacious and full of light.
With respect to all this texture, loving and embracing all its details like typical cast iron radiators and ceiling ornaments, preserving the values was fundamental. Interventions were made very carefully and respectfully. Just enough touch, for a couple’s needs and expectations in today’s modern living. Design touches were neither abstained nor dominated.
So for this colourful couple, the interior was designed with modern touches, just enough but cosy and comfortable furniture, emphasizing the colourful art pieces and accessories like the two portraits in the living room: ‘’Rafa II’’ by Gabriel Moreno and ‘’W’’ by Andres Salgado.
The bathroom was surfaced with micro topping around the centre point illustration ‘’Insomnia’’ by Vorja Sanchez printed on white ceramic tiles. In connection with the living room, the kitchen was designed to be a part of the daily life, acting as a dining space, a study area, or a coffee corner when needed. With little storage and more naked walls, decorated with ‘’Petite Friture Curiosity’’ plates with bunny ears.
The bedroom was separated by an iron framed glass separator, with sliding doors for privacy and noise control, but still keeping the connection between the living and sleeping area, preserving the spaciousness within the house.
