This home was created as a private retreat for a public figure - someone who needed peace, seclusion, and a strong sense of connection to nature.
The design takes inspiration from the traditional houses of the region: simple shapes with gabled roofs. But instead of copying the old, we used clean lines, natural textures, and large openings to give it a modern, open feel.
The steep slope of the land was our biggest challenge. We needed to place a large home on one level without making it feel heavy or disconnected from the site. By combining two clean volumes in an L-shape, the house follows the terrain naturally and feels like it belongs there. It’s a home that feels grounded, calm, and intentionally quiet.
