From its prominent location next to City Hall and King George Square, 80 Ann Street promises to become a Brisbane landmark. In collaboration with Woods Bagot, ASPECT Studios have designed a destination that extracts this potential to create a destination for employees and the general public alike.
The project reimagines the workplace environment in order to set a new benchmark in the pursuit of climatically appropriate and responsive design. With the use of specific green infrastructure technologies and strategies, the project contributes to climate control, the urban ecology and user comfort to advance and contribute to Brisbane’s subtropical city design.
On a broader scale, the project gives back to its city. The site’s dual street frontages create a vital mid-block connection between Turbot and Ann Streets, allowing a quicker route between the George Street Law Courts and Roma Street through to King George Square and the Queen Street Mall.
The project boasts a highly porous ground plane that offers a variety of connective experiences, interrupting the pace of its users’ busy city lives.
