In the heart of the mountains near Mont-Tremblant, a new residence has emerged, blending harmoniously with its natural surroundings. Simply named “46N74O Alt. 280,” this residence embodies a vision where every detail has been meticulously designed to integrate with the surrounding topography, capturing the very essence of this iconic location.
Evocative simplicity: Discover 46N74O Alt. 280
The name of the residence, “46N74O Alt. 280,” succinctly sums up the spirit of the architectural project. This home embodies a fusion between human intervention and nature. Every element of its design has been conceived to blend seamlessly into the landscape, offering a living space where well-being and communion with the environment prevail. To quote Patrick Blanchette, associate president and senior architect at blanchette archi.design: “Our goal with 46N74O Alt. 280 was to create a space where simplicity and elegance interact with the surrounding nature. Every gesture, every material was carefully chosen to preserve the very essence of this exceptional place and to blend in with it with simplicity and elegance.”
A biomorphic design incorporating Feng Shui principles
Inspired by Feng Shui principles, this residence embraces the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—with meticulous integration. The interior spaces, divided into clear functional zones, allow for harmony between form and function. The sustainable, locally sourced materials used in construction, such as natural cedar, create an elegant aesthetic while respecting the environment. The anodized aluminum was developed in a specific color palette, drawing its essence from the hues of frost on the maple leaves found on the site.
A perfect fusion: The 46N74O Alt. 280 residence and its topography
The structure of the residence, made of wood and concrete, blends semi-subterranean into the surrounding topography, following the natural curve of the eponymous level. Large windows offer breathtaking views of the landscape, inviting residents to connect with nature at any time of day. In addition, the architectural concrete not only provides structural stability but also acts as a thermal mass and a guiding thread throughout the resident’s journey.

Inside, a thoughtful layout of spaces provides a smooth transition between the different living areas. Natural light and strategically placed openings allow the surrounding nature to penetrate every space in the house, creating a unique and soothing atmosphere.
